Just a quick video to celebrate my new Knife Patent that was issued 20 April, and I just received the official copy of on Monday. Patent 10,981,283. Not something that happens everyday so I felt it was worth a quick video. If you want to subscribe to my YouTube channel you can join my journey as I take this from Patent to Production. Over the next several months I will be setting up a Tormach 1100MX. Becoming much more proficient in Fusion 360 and learning CNC programming. I am pretty confident in my manual machining but my extent of CNC is about 3 days almost 30 years ago during my apprenticeship.

I hope you will join in the journey, should be a lot of fun and great learning along the way.

Congrats on the patent. (My whole career has been in the patent world.)

Thanks, I knew it was out there somewhere, I had not searched it up yet for where. I will go through it in full detail in future videos. Nothing wrong with a little spoiler.

Overall the patent journey was a good experience. I am sure you had a great career at it.

That's awesome! Congratulations. Well done!
Cheers
Martin

John Grimsmo in Stoney Creek Ontario makes folding knives along a similar design. I don't own any of his knives, but they look as good a quality as yours. His pricing is beyond my budget, anywhere from 800 to 1000$.
Have you set pricing for you knives?

Appreciate the feedback. I will definitely check out John’s channel. I am a ways from having anything to sell but from what I have seen from other makers I think I will be closer to half of those numbers. Somewhere around the $450 mark. Maybe that will change when I get further in but that is what I am thinking right now based on my anticipated materials costs. Not a full time job for me. I am sure when it is that is a huge difference.
