My new to me (and my first ever mill) arrived at the freight dock Thursday afternoon. I picked it up and have it sitting in my shop. It’s not in its permanent spot but will be shortly. Gonna try and move it with a cherry picker.
I spent yesterday cleaning and shining it up. Gonna be a long project but I’m thrilled with it.
I need to order ball cranks/ or hand wheels for it this week.
I’m in the process of gathering parts for a rotary phase converter.
It has a collet Chuck stuck in the spindle. Hope it’s not too hard to remove.
I used some mineral spirits on a rag and the table cleaned up decent.

Congratulations on your new mill!
I built a Rotary Phase Converter several years ago, let me know if you need any help with yours.

Congrats on your new mill . Just recently I was able to get a stuck MT out of it's spindle , I used a paint striper heat gun .

How hot did you have to get it? I haven’t put a lot of effort in to it yet. I sprayed down in there with PB blaster gonna let it sit a couple days.

I was soaking like you are , the first thing I did was to dry it . Like I said I used a paint strip heat gun and I heated it for only about 8-10 minutes . It didn't change color . My collet (solid MT) was rusted in , not to bad but was not coming out by hitting the draw bar . After the heat gun it popped right out .
Good luck , Mark .

I was finally able to remove the stuck tool chuck from the spindle of my Index 40H mill by boring most of it out on my lathe (up to the threads), and pressing the rest out with the drawbar. There are pics documenting my progress in my 40H post.

Does anyone have information on Index decals.
This has one on the front of the belt cover. I’d like a new one after paint. The rest are metal tags riveted on and in good shape.
