Here's the thing. My "shop" is the spare bedroom in my condo (for now). I've been doing light hydraulic repair/rebuilds (might post pics of a job if there is interest) anyway, now I need a lathe and a mill, because I just do, and I don't have a wife anymore so it's MY CALL!

Ok anyway :)

I found an EMCO V10p near me, weight/size are perfect for me.

Anyone else using EMCO out there? Have questions and would like to talk.

Thanks,

Desi

ps. Pics will follow once I get it home.

Well I see that you bought the Emco. Is it the one you had originally posted about?
Pierre

BTW it does not exist until picture posted!

Sorry pdentrem pictures coming asap..........

I didn't even know they made a V13.....any chance you have uploaded any pictures? I'd do a search of the forum, but I never seem to get any results for some reason......What do you use for tooling in the v13? Do you have to stick to proprietary stuff?

I have a bunch of pictures in a getting it home thread here:

and a DRO mounting thread here:

I've yet to install my VFD. I really do miss the variable speed I have with my Smithy Granite that I started with.

I just read the trials and tribulations on the lathe purchase. Sure glad it worked out. DRO write was very educational.

Thanks Pierre,
It was well worth it. I've had my eye out for a V13 for over five years at that point, but had never hoped to find a used one within reasonable distance. I have all my tooling numbered now and the offsets stored in the DRO. Selecting the tool number in the DRO gets me within .001 of the readout without measuring. I still measure...just in case....
