Everyone knows how much those dang under-nail blood leaks hurt. I made it long enough to finish what I was doing, then I had to fix it. I had a brandy new #60 us made drill handy, so I gave that a shot.

Sweet sweet victory! I checked, machinery's handbook does not list a preferred cutting fluid for drilling humans, so I did it dry like cast iron. I highly recommend setting the depth stop.
 
I use a #11 X-Acto blade. Set the point on where you want the relief hole and twirl away. That way, most of the force is rotational so there is minimal downward pressure to send pain shivers up your spine.
 
Never thought about getting the blood out... always would ride it until it went away... but yeah... hurts like a b****...
