No. 60 drills are handy

Watched my father do this 60 years ago after one of my sisters slammed a door on her finger. Part of my go-bag first aid kit is a 1/16" bit (easier to twiddle the shaft between your fingers, and you stop once the blood starts flowing anyway).

There is such a thing as a fingernail drill, they are a flattened round shank with a approx. 90 deg. included point that is sharpened like a drill and has a knurled knob to rotate it, being made that way, it cannot hog in and do more damage like a twist drill would, I do not have one, a friend showed me his; when needed, one can hammer flatten a finish nail and sharpen it with a file to a point. I do have a pre made specimen.

I had a brandy new #60 us made drill handy, so I gave that a shot.

"brandy new" is that a Freudian slip?

Yup a good stiff drink and a drill bit thru your own fingernail.
I have done that too!
