Hi All,

I signed up at the Sandvik-Coromant website a while ago when looking up part numbers on some carbide insert drill bits I got in a basket of goodies from my local used tool store.

This morning in my inbox I got a mail about a world-record sized lathe boring bar.
I just had to share it!

(I am not affiliated with these guys in any way!)

If you poke around their website they claim to have an "Insert Identifier" and "Turning Calculator" mobile applications (aka "apps"). I have NOT tried them.

If I remember correctly some one posted a pic in the early days of the 'net showing a boring bar atleast 100' long for boring stuff on a nuclear sub. The bar was 11" square and it showed a 180 lb man walking on it. Don't remember the deflection.
