The conversation about bench shooting in the borescope thread made me want to bring this up. I bought a Springfield Arms M1A1 National Match rifle almost 20 years ago. Beautiful rifle, and it's my favorite battle rifle. Only thing is, it couldn't shoot factory ammo worth a damn. All over the target at 100yds. Even Black Hills ammo was this way.
I bought a set of RCBS X dies for my Dillon 650 and learned all about case trimming, headspace etc. My very first batch of hand loads shot 3/4" center to center at 100yds. I was hooked!
Yeah, and then life interfered, and I'm still waiting for a chance to take it out again. but benchrest would be hella fun. One of these days...
