Pm 1440 Way Wipers

I have an older pm 1440 and would like to find some better way wipers. I have started using the flood coolant again and it is getting past the existing wipers and under the carriage. I would also like to add wipers to my tailstock to keep coolant from getting under there as well. Has anyone found some good way wipers I could get that would keep the coolant from getting under everything?

I have found silicone sheets ( available at the dollar store as pot holders, baking sheets etc) and strong neo magnet make great shields to keep swarf out of certain areas on both the lathe and mill. It is easy to cut and stiff enough to hold its shape. I have considered making auxilliary wipers from the silicone as well. Give it a try. Its cheap enough and makes a good "wiper" .
