Had to make 8 spacer type washers.
Found a short length of some kind of steel about 18mm dia, just right.
Drilled the hole through the middle then set up the parting off tool.
Parting has been pretty good lately and I thought I had it licked.
Off we go, easy peasy, rolls of swarf peeling off with no problems. Awesome, got it down pat, not a problem, feeling well chuffed.
Then with no warning the steel climbs on top of the tool, rips the bar out the chuck, chips the end off the tool and everything jammed up solid.
I actually saw the whole compound flex and twist, What the hell??
I unjammed everything and checked it over, gibs tight no play, 4 bolt hold down plate all tight, qctp tight.
But, grasping the compound I found I could actually flex it up and down
The culprit was some swarf packed tight in the hole in the cross slide that the compound swivels in preventing it from being tightened down snug.
It is so easy to become complacent, obviously I was very careless when I installed it in that hole.
At least it wasnt an expensive lesson learnt.
The next 7 washers parted with no problems but I'm not saying I've got it licked this time.

Proof once again that experience is the best teacher. Thanks for sharing that!

As I often tell my girlfriend "Don't get cocky". I speak from much experience on the matter; every time I have screwed up big time and looked like a bozo it was because I got a little too pleased with myself and stop paying attention to the things I have done many times ;)
