I am restoring a logan model 820 Built in 1945.. the " door" cover that encloses reverse gear and idlers APPEARS ... to be a brass or bronze casting....is this normal ????. the base pieces ( That support the bed ) appear to be cast iron but seem to give off a cold color within the grain od the cast iron...
I have stripped of the paint and removed the origional Graphite blue on all parts preping for paint with hammerite ( a 50/50 blend of hammerite Dark blue hammered and hammerite Black hammered. the resultant color in close to the origional blue with a metalic flair and a hammered finish. Certainly not origional but awsome to my eye
I am curious if the war caused the use of something different or that was just what they did beac then.

Any input from you Logan Masters woulebe appreciated
Thanks
joe
