I appreciate the desire to keep the old stuff going. I have spent my entire adulthood in that line.
Harbor Freight "Icon" stuff may contribute to the Chinese invasion, but so far I cannot condemn it.
If you really want to identify it, you might go to Garage Journal's forum. They have a section there dedicated to old tools. I'll bet somebody can identify your ratchet in a very short time. I've seen some pretty obscure tools identified there before.
the ball is approx .100” in diameter and the spring is tapered to sit on the ball and flares out to about 1/8” in diameter and is is about 7/8” - 1” long
