SBL13 Bearing Cap Torque

How many ft-lb do you guys torque the SBL 13 bearing caps?

There is no torque to my knowledge. When adjusting the spindle bearings install a lever in the spindle with an indicator on the spindle and lift to see how much play there is. The adjustments come from adding or removing shims. TAKE THE EXPANDER SCREWS OUT BEFORE YOU TAKE THE CAPS OFF

I removed shims to get to the required play, just wondering whether there is a torque spec on the socket heads.

I just torqued them to 40 ft-lb, right or wrong

Do a search for bolt torque and use the generic chart that goes by bolt size. You can also find it in most auto service manuals like Haynes or Chilton. Thats what I do for unknowns anyway.
