Securing chuck from unscrewing.

Guys,

I am wanting to cut threads in reverse, on a ML7.
Yep. The chuck has the propensity to unscrew itself, in reverse.

For you myford owners.....have you done threading in reverse, without the chuck unscrewing itself? Or, had you experienced it unscrewing?

What have you done to "secure" the chuck well enough, to permit threading in reverse?

My ML7 has the original 1964 vintage 3 jaw and 4 jaw chucks.

The backs of old Emco chucks are split and feature a locking collar which may be something one can replicate.
