So after fixing up the lead screw. I could not stand the remaining slop in the cross feed dial assembly. It was much worse when I first received the machine. I disassembled and cleaned the unit and shimmed per Smithy directions it went from bad to somewhat usable.
After fixing the cross slide nut , was not even attached correctly. I was eager to use it so good enough for now…..now its time to make it better. Since the last go around I have more tooling and material to work with….
