South Bend Heavy 10 vs 9

I do. The QCGB will be imperial (and quite limited on the early heavy 10) and I’m a metric man.
A 127/100 compound gear and some extra spur gears will give you metric threads.
How is your ELS synchronized with the spindle?

I’m using the Clough42 ELS - details here:

I’ve not finished the set up yet. It’s working on the bench, I need to mount it to the lathe still.

I’m a chronic putterer in a basement shop. I’ve had a long bed SB 9C for about 20 years. I love that lathe, but every once in a while, the small spindle bore and manual change gears are an issue. I would jump on a heavy 10 for a reasonable price, even if I had to put it in the dining room.
