Southbend Model C Lathe

i have been looking for a southbend lathe for the last several months with no luck on a good machine,today i found a 9 inch model c can someone tell me the differenc between aa 9inch model a alnd a model c ,as always thanks for the help dave

The main difference is that the Model A has a quick change gear box and the Model C does not.

I have both a model 9A and 9C. Since I rarely cut threads I find both quite satisfactory. You can cut threads with a 9C but you have to utilize change gears. I'd get a list of them and check to see if they're all there.

The model C doesn't have power cross feed either. If the price is right they're fine for basic machining. I have 2 of them.
