My old Bridgeport makeshift handle finally got the best of me. Does anyone have plans to make a handle I can downfeed, bring back up, and continue to downfeed?
Thank you all in advance.

I recalled someone use a wheel instead of the handle, and that may solve your problem.

Not sure if you’re looking for a project but, I bought an import for $17 that works fine. I don’t remember where I found it though.

Here's a link to one like the one in the 3rd picture. It's available from H&W Machine Repair for less than $35.00 US dollars. I've had the same one from them for over 20 years and it still works great.

I went with the steering wheel had an extra one from my buggy. one allen bolt holds it on. and I do like it

The wheel just seems like it would get in the way too much, with no way to adjust. The lever with a pin is fine with me.

I like that but it seems big and bulky, a simple lever with a pen on a spring and I would be able to ratchet up and keep pulling down

I did my best old man sketch, just to brainstorm a simple mechanism.
On second thought maybe no one should see my drawing skills...

I see you're in Portugal, so machining replacement parts might be your best bet. I Google'd "Bridgeport quill handle" which turned up the YouTube video. I also Google'd "BP quill handle plans" and didn't see any hits.

The YouTube video does a good job showing the mechanism through his final assembly is quite a bit bigger than the one on my BP. It'll at least give you an idea how the indexing pin and spring come into play.

I had an Induma 1-S (similar to a Bridgeport, and made a 3 armed lever for the quill downfeed, I made the hub tapered and drilled and tapped it for 1/2" diameter arms about 10" long, and of course, installed a pin to drive the flange on the pinion shaft, I threaded both ends of the lever arms, the outer end for plastic balls.
