Alright saddle is off and the cleaning has begun. I got to the bevel gear in the knee and was curious what everyone else is using. Some of the greases mentioned seem kind of uncommon around here and was curious if there are any good alternatives.

Just kind of looking for advice on what grease I should use for the gears. Hopefully will get a power feed on the knee at some point in the future...

Any grease made for open gears should work. It doesn’t have to be anything special for a low speed gear like that.

Thanks, that is kind of what I figured. If I put a power feed on the knee at some point would that change anything or is it still considered pretty low speed? Have some Lucas red and tacky I thought of using.

That stuff sticks to everything, so it should work. Even if you put a power feed on it’ll never turn fast enough to sling grease off.
