Surface plate refinishing in Indiana

Any recommendations on where I can get a 18x24 surface plate lapped that’s within driving distance of central Indiana?

My plate’s full of scratches.

Any idea what they’d charge a regular person, or am I better off just buying a new one from Shars?

Scratches, though unsightly, don't necessarily reduce the effective flatness of a granite surface plate. one of the nice things about granite is that you can have surface imperfections that don't raise bumps like cast iron surface plates.
