I only knew the acronyms from staring at that datasheet for a while when working on mine. Definitely not intuitive.

Really, I have never seen those abbreviations used before. I agree with you completely about using initials or acronyms without explanation. It’s lazy or worse.

You can laugh, but among many things I've done was a staff officer, A couple of times for 3 & 4 stars and as you said not spelling out an initialism, or acronym was both lazy and dangerous and an author either did it or was trying to find reassignment to less challenging position. The Federal Emergency Management Agency, FEMA, was the worst. They actually issue a handbook of acronyms & initialisms. Google the story of Napoleon's Corporal of concise and clear writing.
