I was digging around trying to figure out warranty replacement on a couple of busted Torx sockets, one Stanley the other Proto, and came across this list.
Rather informative.

I too came across this list recently and the extent of tool manufacturer consolidation surprised me. Imagine this list 30 years ago, 50 years ago.

Imagine what a machine tool company list would look like today compared to past decades...

I see Danaher who I currently work for , and Textron a past employer . These companies buy and sell divisions everyday , hard to keep up .

Called Stanley, and requested replacements for the two sockets. No problem, they sent them right out.
One of them is now a DeWalt made in Taiwan, the other is a Stanley Professional.
Didn't even have to return the busted ones.
Then I came across my pile of busted tools in the shop and I realized Stanley covers those also. -DUH-
Looks like I need to make another call. This will be interesting because they are larger tools.
