I have spent the last few days working on a friends dump truck (new bushings in the bed hinges) and asked if he had a micrometer jokingly as he has very few tools. he pauses a minuit and says he thinks he does and goes off into a corner of his shop and starts digging thru stuff. after a few min he comes out with this huge box and says I think this is what you want and you can keep them if you want them. 035.JPG

It's a lufkin 0-12 set with standards. the 1" and 3" are missing and replaced with sterrett and the 2" standard is missing. the standards were still wrapped in paper and the mikes were still greasy like they hadn't been used. the two sterettes show signes of use so i think they were thrown in to complete the set. there was a little surface rust in places so everything was cleaned oiled and zeroed. but it was worth it for a free set of mikes.
