If this stop is made and installed correctly the X zero position stays constant regardless of the height set and the Y axis position. Make the 3 simple parts and install with the main body parallel to the bed. This ensures that the stop end stays in position when moved to suit different heights and widths of workpieces.
I currently use a heavy die spring under the head of the screw and never need to loosen the screw to move the stop arm to the centre of the datum face.
