Unusual Milling Cutter

To me, it looks like an older carbide end mill. Before they made full carbide tools like now, they would braze carbide onto a regular steel base to make a cutting tool. Like brazed carbide lathe tools only an end mill version. Higher cutting speeds. The geometry does look a little harsh for deep cuts, so could be a counter bore tool as well in carbide? Cool old tool.

Probably made for machining abrasive materials, cutting mostly on the end, without spiral flutes, taking much of a cut on the side would be like listening to the "Anvil Chorus" from Tannhauser.

Except for the Weldon shank, it looks like a router bit. I've seen four flute solid carbide router bits and three flute brazed carbide router bits.

Maybe it's a "millroute" bit
