Drive yourself on the Ice fields parkway between Jasper and Banff, along the way you can actually walk on the glaciers, spectacular scenery and have lunch in the Lake Louise Chateau. Wait til late spring summer though. If you don't want to drive, their are all kinds of reasonable bus tours.
