Following youtube videos, I made the following smoke machine. My only change is to add the little spring next to the attachment location to protect the hose.
There is some leak around the cap thread and the bolts. If the bolts has smooth potion, cutting a larger diameter on the outside only for an oring would improve the sealing. Having an oring to the cap can help also.
The two things I really don't like is small burn on the cap after short testing and the cost of the 4" clearout adapter.
If I do it again, a metal can would do, with some plastic shim for electrical insulation around the bolts. That cuts the price down to a few dollars.
My plan to fix the burnt cap is to add a spacing round metal shield to the cap.
