At first I thought it was a wood shaper because the pictures are so lousy. But it appears to be a metal shaper. According to the add if you want to restore it to authentic original condition you will need to have a water wheel in your back yard.

Originally water powered, this guy had an electric 220V motor added. VERY accurate and works like a champ.
12" mag start, ready to plug in and start shaping.
9" vise included.
Weighs in excess of 1200 lbs. Bring 6 men and 2 boys or a truck with a hoist.

OR you can disassemble and you will only need 3 men, a boy and a good part of your day.
