What are Valenite inserts and what are they used for?

These seem to be indexable inserts. What are they used for, and what tooling is necessary to utilize them properly?

Depends on the insert, I have a few Valenite holders, for drilling, milling, profiling, turining and cutoff. Can you post the insert number?
