There was a face plate that came with my lathe that had this bolted to it...

Inside was this collet...

One side of the face of the collet is stamped 1/2, which I believe is the size. Opposite this is stamped a "T" with something else that looks like it was destroyed when the slits were cut.

Any body know what type collet this is?

Hmm... I'll have to take some measurements.

Yep, could be. Could be a swiss too... Will definatly have to take measurements.

The holder looks to be home made. I like it, and hopefully will be able to determine it's actual type... I wonder if the collet was home made too... The stamping is kind of crude...

It is the same shap as the collets in my die grinder.

So I took some measurements.

I searched through all the collets on ShopHardinge.com and the closest I could come up with is a Swiss Type TF24, which measures .9367x2.440x15*.

I do believe the TF24 will work. I measured the bore, and it is @ .937 +/-. I may get one just to test fit.

So the search continues...
