What does the -A -B -C suffix mean for bearings?

If you remove the upper belt, and disconnect the gear train from the spindle gear, you should be able to test the spindle bearings by spinning the spindle with your hand. Again, they are fairly beefy for a lathe of that size. Unless they were adjusted super tight and were dragging, they should have a long life.
