What Hz Is Single Phase Power ?

The instructions are saying, basically, that if you are in north America the the frequency (cycles) is 60 cycles. In Europe the frequency is fifty cycles.

Until one week ago that was my career; my group took care of the energy management system at one of the Balancing Authorities in WECC. It reads dry, but it was really very interesting in practice.

whatever you do don't hook a 50 Hz transformer to 60hz supply, the transformer will be short lived

but you can hook a 60hz transformer to 50hz for operation, albeit at different output than nameplate spec
