What Is The Best Way To Set An Adjustable Reamer?

Hello,

I have always had issues getting adjustable reamers set to the desired size and tend to stick to normal reamers for holes that require a specific size.

Any advise on how people set adjustable reamers to a required size would be very interesting.

set the size with a od mike, but go smaller to start with, ream the hole check it than adjust it larger

I like to "sneak up" to required diameter sometimes. i had to ream a bagpipe part to be a snug sliding fit on another part. I slowly kept adjusting the reamer and reaming(wood might crack too!)until I got the fit needed.
