Carbon arc lighting for theater was commonplace not so long ago.
The light is intense and the process is technologically simple
Cataracts were an unfortunate side effect of many old time actors, due to the intense light.
i have used the twin carbon arc brazing process and the carbon arc torch for scarfing welds
