I had a couple floor tom legs from my brother's old drum set. 3/8" steel rods, chrome plated, with a zig zag bend. Japanese stuff. Hard to bend, but machines like a dream.
Made a small drawbar out of it and it threaded wonderfully, no tearing like some steels do. What is this stuff? Would it be similar to 1045 or more like a moly steel?
Gotta be a bend-resistant alloy but what kind?
