I modified carriage bolts to use on mine. The flats on a carriage bolt are angled. I have read that this can damage the slot. So I milled the angle off so the flats fit in the slot.
The ones I ordered (not here yet) were made in Dayton Ohio. I just looked again and realized it doesn't say 5/8" anywhere! (oops) I just assumed I guess or I got confused among the many ebay offerings I had open in different tabs. It just says "for Bridgeport".
We'll see I guess (how's that for a deep statement?)
Took me a while but I finally got it all disassembled, cleaned, lubed, reassembled and adjusted, and only then did I measure the slots. Aw geez they're 14 mm! (Not even 9/16" which is 14.3 mm.) Needless to say the clamping kit I got is for 5/8" slots. So my first job is going to be milling down all my T-nuts. On the plus side, I have a mill now. yay me.
