Where is the cheapest place to buy a Vfd? I don't need anything fancy just need to run a one pony, three phase motor on my Logan I am restoring.

Well if you want to go cheap, Ebay is a good source.

Thanks guys. Well I don't need a motor but that is a good deal. I have another dumb question. Do I still need a on and off switch or does the vfd take care of that too? I think I settled on a teco MODEL #: JNEV-201-H1. Will this play nice with my motor? Here is a picture of the vfd and motor.

Start-stop-reverse can be handled right there on the vfd. You can also wire up a separate hand held control box with a on off switch and a pot for variable speed if you like, too.

You will also need a disconnect or plug between the wall and the VFD. The VFD will be hard wired direct to the motor.
