I've been rehabbing a 6" Belsaw grinder, and need to choose a diamond wheel grit for finishing HHS/carbide. Has a white cup wheel on one side now that seems to work well for roughing out. Any suggestions appreciated. Mike

I've got a diamond wheel down here Mike I'll never use , I'll take a few pics today . $20 shipped if you want it . Busy building a fence !

I tore apart my cup grinder and will be using this as a wire wheel and buffer . I have one downstairs but need one in the garage for projects . The diamond wheel has a 3/4" mounting flange if you can use it . Can't take the time to locate it until this evening .

My HF Baldor knock off cutter grinder came with the original green wheel and a nice 320grit CBN wheel on the other side. It puts a mirror finish on all my carbide tools. Seems more a hone so its for finishing strictly.

Wheel . :)

Personally I wouldn't have a green wheel in a home shop.

I don't even like using them at work.

Use diamond for carbide for finishing for roughing silicone carbide. For high speed aluminum oxide or CBN. I have always been told not to use diamond on high speed steel. Cheep diamond wheels can be found for around a hundred.

I haven't had any issues with the CBN wheels I have, they are for working on tool edges, bought them for the tools on the wood lathe and I have used them for the HSS. What is the issue?
