Why Install Z Power Feed Crooked on a PM-9xx Machine?

Today my new PM-935TV was delivered, and while looking for better power feed installation instructions, I found a lot of photos and videos where the Z power feed is installed crooked.

Does anyone know if there is a legitimate reason for it besides "because the holes in the bearing flange were drilled that way"?
There seems to be enough clearance to mount it vertically.

Could be to allow clearance for the Y axis power feed?

The knee power feeder is specifically designed to mount at an angle to provide clearance for a Y-axis power feed unit. See photo below.
