Every little helps when it comes to accuracy.

In the video demonstration the datum edge on the part has a severe compound taper which can still be cancelled out with the stop in the correct position.
Always having the stop in the centre of the datum face is good practice when setting the part for subesquent operations, especially when turning over.
The demonstration compares a stop locating on a corner to one located on the centre of a datum face or edge.
Any questions please ask in the replies.

Makes the stop that clamps to the vise jaw a bad idea.
