That’s really unfortunate. I’ve been to BANES before, back in the early 2000s and it was really good. I went to a model engineering show in Windsor VT this fall. I’d been 20 yrs ago and it was well attended. In 2023 there were 2 or 3 tables and one was just 3D printers. It was really sad. It was a long running show that shut down over covid and I suspect they had counted on pre-covid participants automatically returning but they didn’t. It needed to be promoted but it was not. I’m sure this show won’t happen again either. Seems like interest in the hobby is fading
