The friend that gave me my Maximat 7 called me the other day and said he had "goodies" for me..
He explained that they where moving some stuff from the previous owner of the lathe (30 years ago) and found somemore parts :):):)

4 jaw chuck, steady rest, traveling rest and the elusive change gears :):):):):):):)
some misc HS tooling, keyless chuck and some morse tapers..
YEEPPPIIEEE
Also last month , the portion of the compound i needed (mine was damged beyone repair) along with a original tool post popped up on Ebay, I got both pieces for <$100 delivered.

Re-united and it feels so good...... ;)
LOL . Mill Lee just sent me pic of a HLV-H on Bidspotter . The machine is the one I ran at my first place of employment . I already have the DSM that was with the HLV-H . Maybe they will be re-united after 40 years also. :big grin:

Found a piece of pipe in pile of goodies, opened up to slip over the spindel and a hole for a punch/pin for using a pipe wrench to hold the spindel for chuck removel.. I used a donor craftsman 7/16" deep well and made a way to use a rachet or breaker bar to hold it. Drilled a 3/16" hole across the flats, put a blob on the end of a piece of SS 3/16 rod stock for my cross pin.. Then drilled the end for hairpin, as not to lose it..
