Yup, really I just wanted to make one, I don't expect it to be super accurate, but I'd like to play a little.

I bought one when I first got my mill. Worked ok but still not as accurate as standard edge finder, and mine had a 3/4" shank which makes it a big pita!

I intend to use it as a plotter, not really an edge finder for part zeros.

Mike, the saw is a 16" DoAll. It's a 1939 vintage that I restored. The blade welder needs a new step up transformer and it just hasn't been a real priority for me to replace. One of these days I'll get around to it.

Thanks for the reply Mac. I've been looking for almost a year now and there is just nothing any better than the 14" Wilton that I had. I have been talking with Matt @ QMT about one that he carries and ordered one the other day. It is made in Taiwan but sure looks like an earlier model DoAll. It measures 18" blade to throat and has the blade welder on the side just like yours.

Sold both my Jet 7x12 horizontal and my Wilton 14" vertical last weekend to the same guy, made him a package deal.

Mike.

chevydyl, I am making one as well. After looking at several on line, I also thought that it would be a fun project. I would be interested in hearing how yours works out when you have it finished. I have the housing to go on mine. Here is what I have so far.
