P.O.T.D, purchase and load a 300ac Lincoln welder first thing this morning.
It ran when he parked it under an oak tree 10 years ago (hence the green mildew).
As is for $500.
It's about $2000 cheaper than any machine around!

Yesterday I bought the steel tubing I need to make a bench today for my 10" lathe, round column mill, and surface grinder, plus storage drawers below. If things go as planned at least the frame will be done today. No tornadoes in the forecast so here's hoping...

My 8yr old son is doing a refurb project for the FFA ag show next spring. When he saw the welder he asked if he could refurb it for the following year's show.
The machines already been dubbed "Hot Rod Lincoln" after I repeated the above post.
He wants to paint it like the Texas flag.

Bought this on E-bay, found out it was part of a dividing head. Needed some work to make it...well work. Started today to modify and repair.
I bored the end where the shaft is inserted to shift the worm thread down where it belonged. Now I need to make the worm for it and remount it.
There are other mods to be made to make it useful..
And this.
I didn't make this but someone I 'made' made this. My daughter that is.

More work on the Xs650 project. I made up some headlight ears and clamps to hold them to the fork legs so I could mount the large 7" headlight. I started with 2 pieces of 1" X 2.5" aluminum and bored a 2-1/8" hole in each. I'll let the pictures tell the rest.
