Advice on Which Brand to Choose

I bought a Harbor Freight RF30 knockoff for $980 which I have been generally happy with. The machine is severely handicapped until a tight head indexing system is fabricated then it's fairly useful although a Bridgeport it will never be.

If I happen upon a cheap round column in decent shape I'll probably still snatch it up. I actually like the look of them and would like to build something like Grizzly's benchtop radial drill with its head.
