Bardons & Oliver #5

I've done a few small runs (10-15) and even that was a workout. Pretty cool when you can crank out a multi operation part in about a minute though.

I love old turret lathes. I set up and ran them for years. They are great for drilling holes. I ran mostly 3 ,4,and 5 machines. Learn to use your box tools and slide heads and how to time tools with the front and back tools on the crosslide.

I'm working on it. I've got a box tool I need to rebuild.

I like using the forming tools too. Cranks out a complex profile in no time!

You are a glutton for punishment in taking that old beasty apart, excellent work.

I ran a simple spot, drill and tap job on 24 stainless parts today in a small 1950's era Hardinge turret, what a nice machine I love the little thing, it is nearly silent when running which you appreciate if you spend 40+ hours per week in a machine shop.

I've got a small Hardinge too. It's the ESM 59; apparently the model before yours. Agreed, they are a stout little machine and very quite.
