I have an ancient Bosch PWS 5-115 4/1/2" angle grinder. Last year I bought a used Makita GA4534 which lasted approximately 36 seconds before releasing the magic smoke.
I'm fearful that my Bosch is going to give up the ghost so I'm on the hunt for another 41/2" grinder.
I have Ridgid cordless so if anyone has their cordless grinder I'd be interested in hearing opinions.

Corded 4.5"-5" Angle Grinders: My first was a Milwaukee, I had it for about 20 years before it went missing... Replaced it with another Milwaukee that is still going strong also for about 20 years now. Picked up a Bosch that came bundled with a hammer drill that about 15 years ago, it also woks fine. Bought a Makita about 3 years ago for site work, I really like it very solid feel and plenty of power but time will tell. Bought a DeWalt for use on a job in a pinch, it died within a week.
Corded 7": I have a Makita for about 20+ years and a DeWalt about 15 years both work fine but don't get much use.
Cordless 4.5"-5": Milwaukee and DeWalt, both died in about 3 years (it wasn't the batteries).
I also had a 7" Henry pneumatic angle grinder that was an absolute beast, but sold it after I got rid of my towable compressor.

David,
My go to grinder is a $29.99 Mastercraft from Canadian Tire. Works great . I also have a 230 volt Matebo that I really like but only able to use it in one location because of the voltage. Both are 4-1/2” grinders. My 6” grinder is a Makita but I rarely use it.

I 've had my Walter 4.5" grinder for over 7 years still going strong. Were I used to work we had nothing but Walter. I figured if it could handle industrial abuse it would certainly last me a lifetime at home.

Corded: running Bosch, which replaced an earlier Bosch that I got around 10 years out of.
Battery: Milwaukee M18, which is convenient but does not have the brute strength of corded versions.
(I happen to have a bunch of other Milwaukee M18 tools as well, have standardized on their batteries)

Corded Metabo for extended use, and a 18V Milwaukee for everyday use.

#1 Milwaukee M-18 4.5 inch Fuel brushless
#2 Dewalt corded 4.5 inch 12 amp
#3 Milwaukee 9 inch grinder for serious grinding
#4 Air tool 90 degree angle tool for specialty work
