What Did You Buy Today?

Well heck . I have a set down the basement .

I paid too much in order to get a set that wasn't dry rotted or cracked. Most of these are overpriced. With shipping and taxes it was $330. I didn't want to try to complete missing sets or buy junk for just a little bit less. I was willing to pay the difference on eBay for the cherry set just to be done with it. I needed to switch from a draw bar 5c system to a spindle nose mount because I don't have the 42" of space between my headstock and wall to install the draw bar.
I think that's a fair price for both parties. For a good set, you bet.
The Jacob's chuck is simple to use. It took me a bit to get the hang of using it but I like the design.

Nice little craigslist find 10 miles from my house. Extra grinding wheels, sanding wheels, buffing wheels and wire brush wheels. The grinding wheel abrasive tool is neat.

$100!

I'll post a photo of the abrasive tool shortly.

I found these at Dollar Tree, which is a USA national chain (with online ordering also), so accessible to many H-M members.

Much more detail in the thread:

Well I know I do . I offered to purchase yours and got no responses . So You selling or not ? :dunno:
Really?
Hugh, I must have missed it.
Sorry man.
I decided the chuck and collets are too handy to sell.

Well, the results of a horrible eBay bender came in.

I have basically no springs in my shop, and I wanted to fix that. Plus, I get this cool case. Lee Stock Springs still exists, and they still sell a 200 MW engineering sample set.

Saws. Way, way too many saws. An unreasonable amount of slitting saws. I had 1, and now I have many. I don't have arbors for most of these, but slitting saw arbors are pretty quick to whip up. Here's one of the thickest:

And one of the thinnest (it's scary thin):

Moving on...

A nice assortment of carbide drills. The first and third from the left are 3 flute core drills which is really weird and cool.

A bunch of tool holders. Lotta grooving tools, and 2 profiling tools. Some of these may not fit my lathe, so I might need to reduce the shanks.

Quite literally a lifetime supply of paint stick markers.

And finally, a boatload of M5, M6, and M8 SHCS. All Holo-Krome, made in Scotland. I have tons of M3, M4, and M5, but almost no M6 or above fasteners. Guess what I've needed 3-4 times in the past month...

Alright, that's all. Gotta hide the wallet away, I need to make more room for this stuff before I get more fun toys.

The second tool holder from the left... what size is the shank? I've been looking for one with a small shank... it looks like a bigger shank, though. That takes VPGR inserts, in case you didn't know...
