Trav-a-dial Model 6A

The Trav-a-dial has no electronics & no cords / wires. Just a simple mechanical device that is super easy to install on any lathe.

In addition to the reasons for not going digital readout (above) I also like the idea or fact that is analog, not digital.

you could try M.R. Tool Repair. He does all sorts of metrology instrument repair, and Keith Rucker is quite happy with him.

Sure wish we had more mechanical DROs such as the TravaDial still available instead of the relatively very fussy digital stuff.

SWI was company that made them. And I think they are still fixing them. I looked them up and they have a price list on line. They used to be in south Los Angeles area.
