1/6th scale 1890's 30ft navy steam cutter (live steam)

quick update, looking better, hub screws and metal gear on the way..

tested the servo driven geared steering system today,, yeah it works...

not much on the metal side of things as of late, made a form to shape the cockpit coming and rail, a very prominate part of the boat that has to look correct, started work on the 1/6th figures for the boat (I hate empty "ghost" boats.. she will have a crew of three, coxswain-engineman-seaman.. along with them will be a LT and his wife.. time stamp for the model will be the Dewey naval parade Sept. 1899.. the boat will be from cruiser USS New York.. figures started with jointed bodies covered with scupt epoxy.. purchased heads were given glass eyes and added hair where needed.. the world of 1/6th scale figures is large and varied..

Where did you purchase or how did you make the 'jointed body parts' and heads? These would come in handy for a project I'm working on.

mainly ebay, and a few other online stores,, just search 1/6th heads or bodies,, lots of options.. the epoxy sculpts are smooth-on products (standard and light-weight) kind of a slow process of a layer a day, best if you can work on several at a time.. other fine details I'm using sculpey polimer clay that you bake to harden.. to further the maddness I've cast a fiber glass torso with the hopes of mounting servos to work the arms,, control for throttle and fwd/rev... I'm holding off on final sanding and painting until all the figures are at that stage..
