This happened yesterday to me at a restaurant in Rockport TX. I ordered fish and chips. Asked what I wanted for my two sides and thought, well I don't want mash potatoes, jacket potato or fries as I'm getting chips (fries), so I got corn on the cob and coleslaw. This is what I got
Asked the waitress what happened to me chips and she said people just got confused. So I asked, why call it fish and chips, when it's just "fish"? No answer.
True story, had my daughters in fits.
